Hi Everyone,
Just returned from holiday with my son Reade who is 12. We rented a Campervan from KEA and travelled for 20 days from Brisbane in Queensland down to the Great Ocean Road in Victoria and then back up through Canberra and Sydney to Brisbane.
It was really great to get out and see Australia. There are some really lovely country towns and some great nature. I found driving through central NSW was very pleasant and there was constantly changing scenery.

I highly recommend a campervan because you can go where you want stopping anywhere along the way to make something to eat or camp for the night. We even stayed the night at the Thredbo parking lot and skied in the morning when the ski lifts opened.
Now I’ve got the task of sorting out my computer and getting back to work. One of my jobs after I get through all the e-mails will be to look at the video I took with my camera and see that needs to be done to upload to YouTube. I have a pretty simple Panasonic Lumix camera and before I left I made some test video and they seemed to work just fine.
My goal is to upload a series of videos on Skate Parks – that ended up being a strong theme of our trip. I’ll upload some links once I get started.

About Mark
Founder of
Web Reservation Systems, focused on helping businesses in the Australian Accommodation travel sector get more value from Internet Marketing.
Originally, we opened up in 2001 as a supplier of Front Office Software linked to Online Booking facilities. That allowed motels and hotels to add booking buttons to their websites as well as sell through Global Distribution Systems. You could say this was an early 'Channel Manager' because it allowed the property manager to simply control price and availability for a diverse array of wholesale and retails websites.
Next, we started building websites to profile our customers (
Australian Holiday Guide). That lead to building websites for customers as a favour. Now do about 80 websites a year using BurgundySky and Joomla.
For small businesses I recommend using BurgundySky as it is very easy to start and manage. Joomla is also great, but harder to install and maintain for a small business. For a large website, Joomla is great - here's what we did for
Golden Chain Motels, Australia largest accommodation provider with over 335 locations.
Our business is based in Byron Bay, NSW. Byron Bay is a great place to live and work. I have 2 kids (12 and 14) who are both born here and my wife,
Shobhan Oliver)is a successful artist.
